Boss marine BT radio sound is ok. Sound quality is not at level of JBL gauge radios but it’s much cheaper and after having 3 JBL radios (2 models) fail, I was motivated to try something new. This Boss radio diameter was way smaller & fit through my existing gauge radio hole. I made a circular adapter from a cup holder ss trim (with a flange to keep it centered). Seller was excellent, and the radio is good. Radio has an RCA pair for “front line out” and a “rear line out or sub-woofer”. I have a sub-woofer and an amp (for which I wanted both RCA pairs for a front and rear lines out). My amp had an extra output line, so I used that for the sub-woofer, but I wished I had another sub-woofer RCA pair on the radio.

Have a new 2024 boat and never cared for stock stereo, this unit sounds way better and looks nicer. Also has me thinking of adding the rear speakers… has a cool rubber face cover too.

This is my second BOSS. The first one was still playing strong after 2 years of use and abuse in our boat. (We normally use every weekend 9 months out of the year. Got to love Florida. The old radio was still going strong until user error caused it to pop an internal amp or driver. (I was installing a new battery in a tight space and hooked the negative and positive backwards. (Yes there was some choice words said for not paying attention on my part.) The radio pushes the 2 6.5″ speakers well. It does distort at full volume but for the money it does great. It’s plenty loud at full throttle (still running a 2 stroke motor.) For out of the box easy install I would definitely recommend.

I installed the MGR350B in the dash of my Ranger bass boat where I removed an inoperable round Lowrance Depth Flasher. It fit perfectly in the hole without any additional cutting. I used 8 gauge Boss amp wire kit and connected it to a small Sony Xplod 250w two channel amp and used 2 Boss three way 6×9’s in carpeted boxed resting on the floor under the 2 steering/passenger consoles. This head unit’s Bluetooth connects with my Samsung note 8 phone faster than any other device I have ever paired with it. There is plenty of full range sound and way more volume than I need. I feel I could easily connect 2 more speakers to this radio and amp combo and it would sound even better, but there is no need to, the pair of 6×9’s are excellent. I have used boss speakers in 3 boats now and they all performed well. I recommend this radio if you need a round one. This is the first vehicle radio I have ever installed myself and the instructions were good, but I also watched a few YT videos to increase my knowledge before hand.
