   While I have no doubt that in many situations using a silver vs copper cable does not result in an audible difference for some (I’m not here to contest those that have measured the difference and proven there to be none) I AM here to say that in THIS situation (i.e. replacing the stock Hifiman cable on a XS with this pure silver cable), there is absolutely a huge and very noticeable difference!!!Like many users, one of the 1st mods I did was to change the stock pads for the much more comfortable dekoni pads.  The problem though was a noticeable rolling off of the treble that made the overall presentation too dark for me.  After at first trying out the New Fantasia 6N OCC silver plated cable (which made a subtle but noticeable difference) that opened up the top end and gave a bit more air, I was always curious if switching to a pure silver cable instead of silver plated would further brighten up the treble without having to resort to EQ.To my surprise, this Tirstrup pure silver cable exceeded my expectations and added a significant amount of sparkle & clarity to the top end (not subtle) to the point where when I A/B compare it with the stock cable it’s like night and day!!!  Now with this cable & the dekoni fenestrated pads & nuggets, I have to say that my XS has undergone a full on transformation and sounds incredibly good (and it didn’t sound bad at all to begin with), riveling much more expensive headphones IMHO!!!Yes, it’s not cheap, but the real high end pure silver cables are far more expensive than these so in my book this cable is 100% worth it – highly recommended!!UPDATE: A year later I used this cable to burn in a new pair of headphones I recently picked up – after playing pink noise through it fairly loudly, I noticed the sound signature coming from my headphones changed dramatically. At first I thought it was the headphones burning in, when in fact it was this cable that changed!! Somehow the sound changed from a sparkly bright character to being much more subdued & muffled. Really wish I had added a 1 or 2 year warranty since I basically can’t use this cable anymore & did not know there was a volume threshold that would damage the cable. If you purchase this cable, do not turn up the volume louder than your normally listening volume for an extended period of time!!
