This Apple CarPlay adapter plugs easily into my USB port and allows me to effortlessly display all the CarPlay apps on the screen of my Kia Sportage. Very occasionally, I may have to take it and unplug it and then plug it back in (that’s why I gave the four stars instead of 5). Overall, I am very pleased with it. I much prefer to use CarPlay as opposed to the system that came with my car. This allows me to do that wirelessly which is so much better than having all these wires hanging near my dash. Additionally without wires hanging down it is much easier for me to use the charging area near the USB ports on my car because there are no longer wires in my way when trying to place my phone down to charge on the mat.

I’ve seen mixed reviews on many of these types of wireless adapters for Android Auto/Carplay so I wasn’t sure what to expect out of this one. I plugged it into my 2019 GMC’s USB port and it immediately appeared on my phone as both a Wifi and Bluetooth device. I connected to it via Bluetooth and a few seconds later it had automatically joined the Wifi as well. Within 10 seconds, Android Auto opened on my car and it worked exactly as it did when plugged in directly via USB.Once connected, everything seemed to work normally. Maps popped up right away and my music resumed without issue. The interface felt just as fast as the native USB connection. I have high hopes that this adapter will last a long time. The manual shows that the firmware can be updated via HTTP so I’m hoping it will receive updates to work with future versions of Android/iOS. I unfortunately have no way to test its capabilities with Apple Carplay, but it certainly seems to work well with Android Auto.I’ll continue using this and will update this review if there are any issues.

This CarPlay/Android Auto Bluetooth Adapter has been working great for me. It allows my Samsung Galaxy S21 phone to play Android Auto directly through my car’s speakers without wires. Before getting this, I was constantly using (and replacing) cords to connect my phone to the USB port in my car. I often lost connection to Android Auto while driving and would need to unplug and re-plug the cord back into the phone several times during a trip to regain connection. This process was both frustrating and unsafe as well. This is no longer a problem for me anymore and it looks much neater. The wireless adapter was very easy to set up. It was pretty much just plug-and-play for me. Most of the other adapters I looked into asked for you to complete numerous steps on your phone in order to connect them. The directions listed on the Amazon site for this product said “Simply plug the adapter into your car’s main USB/Type-C port, then turn on your phone’s Wi-Fi and BT to pair with the wireless adapter and it will automatically pair with your compatible Phone.” That’s why I chose it. Despite the simplicity described in setting this up, I was still a little skeptical that it would be more involved than they stated. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that it really was that simple.I saw in some reviews that this product is only good for Apple CarPlay (which I don’t have) and does not work for Android Auto. That was not the case for me. I only have Android Auto and it comes through very well. Possibly there was some confusion when they tried to set it up. If I remember correctly, when I first plugged in the adapter, the CarPlay icon showed up. Since no other options were showing, I clicked it and was automatically connected to Android Auto. I have not seen the CarPlay icon come up since then. My car screen only shows the icon for Android Auto.I keep the adapter plugged into the USB port all the time. I get into my car and I am connected within seconds. The reception I receive is better than I had before when using plug-in cords. I hit fewer dead zones. This may be because the product combines both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity. I don’t have much technical knowledge so can’t say for certain if that is the reason why it works so well, and I don’t really care. I am just glad that it does.
