- New Alpine R-Series R-S65C.2 speakers offer larger voice coils, new cone technologies, and better performance over the previous R-S65C models.
- Overall, the R-Series speaker is smaller, making them ideal for tight installations and use matching speaker grills that are shallower as well.
- The R-S65C.2 woofers have a larger 35 millimeter (mm) voice coil for increased motor control over the bass output verses the previous R-S65C.
- The R-Series speakers have been designed from the ground up utilizing an Alpine exclusive cone technology, CFRP: Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer. This high-strength, yet lightweight material is formed so that its fibers align in the same direction as the curve and shape of the cone, thereby reducing resonant peaks.
- In addition, CFRP is used as a tweeter diaphragm, enabling the system to perform up into the 45kHz range, making the speakers compliant with High-Resolution Audio playback.

I can’t say enough about these. I bought them because they were being sold at a discount because the new r2 was released. The quality of this speaker see is phenomenal. The clarity is unmatched, it was great without an amp, and even better with one. Very cool looking, though nobody will ever see them. Size was perfect for what I needed, functionally perfect! Perfect for a budget build but if your a bass guy and willing to spend more money then I would suggest to get a sub these speakers don’t have much bass but do sound good they are worth it

I installed these in a 2001 Tacoma (front doors). They are not a direct replacement. Had to make some new mounting surfaces using half inch thick MDF boards. The sound is absolutely amazing! Set the crossovers to +3db setting which makes the sound really bright and really stand out. I can dial this back using the treble control on my receiver if desired. I have Alpine R series coax speakers in the rear doors and everything is driven by my Alpine CDA-7893 Receiver with the V-drive amplifiers (60 watts X 4) built in. Could not be more pleased with these speakers! I did not apply any sound deadening material to the doors and the sound is really great at highway speeds. Played some high quality R&B music thru these speakers and the bass is so strong and tight that I don’t even need to add a subwoofer. Which is great because there is no place to put one in this truck. Try these, you will not be disappointed.

Completely impressed with these speakers in my 2000 camaro SS. I’ve done a lot of car audio installs and on this car I didn’t even need to break out the RTA gear. Tweeters are a bit hot so let them play for a few hours. I still ended up setting the tweeter crossovers -3db on both left and right front channels but was able to leave all equipment settings flat. Easiest install in terms of final setup I ever had. Looking forward to playing tunes again tomorrow.

I bought theses speakers for my work van and they rock. I suggest driving these speakers with an amp to get full sound.
