great for viewing jump drives but must down load jump drive on a computer then download from there onto frame! A little computer knowledge is necessary to do this!

I am now running three of these in different rooms, all in portrait mode and I love them. I have three others that I have bought at thrift stores all running in landscape mode. Some have really quirky setup procedures but the Alurateks are rather straightforward.Something I have never seen in a brochure but have learned the hard way is:1. Be sure your flash drive or SD card is formatted to the FAT-32 file system. New ones are usually shipped as FAT-32. The displays don’t like NTFS.2. It is best but not critical to crop photos to 600 x 800 pixels because they load faster.3. JPEG images should have “standard” and not “progressive” baselines. They will not display progressive baseline JPEGs.4. Placing an apostrophe at the beginning of a file name causes the display to run it first5. A file name beginning with ‘a will be followed by a file named ‘b and so on.6. You’re gonna love this thing.

I got this to load with photos from a vacation to Australia, as a gift for my stepmom. She absolutely LOVES it. But (for me anyway) getting the photos from my cell phone onto a jump drive and getting it all formatted so that it would look right in the frame was really complicated and took me quite some time to figure out. I had to do a lot of problem solving before I was able to get things to look right. So if you are not very technical or patient, you might want to skip this one or at least find someone to get the jump drive loaded and formatted for you.
