This 4JLEDR camera backpack clip feels well built made almost entirely of aluminum. The design looks very similar to that of Peak Design’s Capture Clip at a fraction of the price ($46 at time of review). The clip swings open using the thumb screws where one side is fully attached and the other screw provides enough tension to lock the entire top portion onto your backpack strap. A single button up top releases the mechanism to allow you to pull your camera with quick release plate up and out of the clip. The quick release plate is square and able to attach to the clip regardless of orientation which is nice. This allows you to mount your camera in any direction (lens down or lens to the side) even after you attached your camera to the quick release plate.Although I really like this camera backpack clip there are two things that stand out to me as potential gripes. The first thing and probably my biggest gripe is that the button securing the qr plate to the clip doesn’t lock so it can easily be pushed in potentially causing your camera to fall. Although your camera would have to slide up and out of the clip and the chances of that happening are very slim. It would have been nice if they implemented some kind of lock preventing you from accidentally pressing the button in. My second gripe is with the nobs that secure the camera clip to your backpack strap. I find that due to the design of this clip the screws protrude out a lot so with heavier cameras attached I can see the sides of the screws digging into your chest causing some discomfort. All that aside this clip does its job. It holds your camera attached to your backpack strap and feels extra secure when attached. I feel like compared to the Peak Design clip this thing is basically the same design at a much cheaper price ($46 at time of review) but there are plenty of different camera clip options out there at this price or even cheaper.

This is the heaviest strap mount I own for my camera. Then again, all of my other mounts are plastic. Other than some silicone padding on a few strategic locations, this mount is all metal, an aluminum alloy. So the weight is justified if you’re okay with the slightly extra load. The main part is cored out in the back to minimize load. There is a clear top and bottom of this device, although subtle. If you wear this on your left side, the quick release button is on the inside side and most accessible. If you wear this on your right side the quick release button is on the outside side and is more awkward to reach, but is doable. This is a well thought out design. The only thing I don’t like about this is neither of the “bolts”–as they are called in the instructions–have a locking mechanism. So they can loosen on their own. The risk is low, but dependent on the thickness of the backpack strap that you use. The reason for the screws in the first place is to adapt to varying strap thicknesses, I suppose. But I just don’t like that the screws can loosen to the point of disassembly. There’s about 1/2″ threading and 15 or so threads. It comes with an allen wrench for tightening like the brand name version that costs 2X, but I don’t see a way to use it for this design.

Absolutely love this thing. Even though it’s a knock off of the peak design clip, it works well, has no play or slopes once the arca plate is inserted into the clip, and seems pretty stable. I’ve got it attacked to my molle webbing of my backpack and it’s been holding strong no issues. I will say cranking the thumbs crews down tight enough is a bit of a chore, but it is what it is. I really like it and my tripod is arca compatible so I can just slide this right into the ball head no issues. It’s a standard 38mm square arca plate. I did swap the 1/4 scree out with one that had a d ring low profile enough to still fit so I didn’t need an Allen key everytime I wanted to tighten the screw or remove the plate.

I’ve been looking at different ways to carry my camera around when traveling. Recently been looking at these camera backpack clips and have tried a few recently. This is my favorite one so far. The clip is constructed very well. It is made of metal but is very light to handle and doesn’t add a lot of weight to the backpack strap. The clip is fully adjustable and fits over well padded backpack straps which is a big plus. You loosen the two pins and the front of the clip slides up. It can then be placed around a backpack strap and tightened. It has a pin to push to release the mount which easily attaches to any camera with a 1/4 inch mounting screw. Took this on its first trip recently and had no issues removing or replacing the camera from the clip. Worked very smoothly and I will be using this clip on further adventures.

This clip has made it so easy to carry my camera with me when hiking, or just wandering around. I attached it to the shoulder strap of my backpack, and having my camera on hand like that has made it easy to constantly practice my photography. I’ve taken it hiking climbed up scrambly slopes, put it on my belt and ridden my motorcycle, all with no sign or worry of it falling off. The camera base clips in easily, and is held secure, needing to push the button to release it to take a shot. The base works with my other, name-brand unit, so I can keep one of each clip on separate bags and not have to worry about which camera it will fit.
