For me, this product works splendidly. There is a little hitch that may cause some users frustration: I think this product is not some sort of “wireless phone extension,” but it rather sends signals over your existing house wiring. If you have the base and receiver plugged into the same branch, it will work. If not, it won’t. This is why I believe some outlets in my house work, while others do not. Thankfully, the outlet near where I want the receiver to be happens to be the same branch as one near a telephone jack. It also explains why they tell you not to use any sort of filter, surge suppressor, or even an extension cord for either the base or receiver. One way to be relatively certain that this product will work for you is to go down to your circuit or fuse box. If the two outlets are controlled by the same breaker/fuse, it will almost certainly work. If not, it might. The product does have an indicator light to tell you if it is connected, which is a great convenience if you don’t want to analyze your home wiring.

I purchased this for my father to use as an added phone line for a heart monitoring device. It works great! He was worried about having to add another phone line in the house and I told him not to worry…there’s an easier way. Plug it into the wall outlet, plug in the phone line, same procedure in another room and you’re all set. I was a bit worried because they live in an older mobile home but it worked A-OK. I would suggest this for anyone needing another phone line in another room.

Perfect for our application. I have Vonage running on our home telephone network. However, we purchased a 1960 era Stromberg Carlson 500 rotary dial phone and have it placed where there is no phone outlet. The InstaJack works perfectly, allowing the old phone to send (pulse dialing) and receive (with attendant old timey bell) calls. I have the Instajack transmitter installed in an upstairs bedroom where there was an empty phone jack and the other Instajack piece installed downstairs where the phone is located. Ain’t technology grand!

Works great for land line phone. Not used for internet but the phone line connection is perfect.
