I know this light has been around for a while, and many have reviewed it, but I just got one, and since I’ve been using the AD600BM (or in this case the Flashpoint XPLOR 600)since August 2018, I wanted to compare them and see if the upgrade was worth it. While the BM currently sells for around $399 at Adorama where I bought mine over 4 years ago at $479, the Pro just cost me $781 from the guys over at HolaFoto.Other than the Pro having TTL, which the only time I use TTL is to see how close it is to the exposure I’m looking for and then using the TCM button on the Flashpoint R2 Pro MkII to take it to manual and dial it in from there, it also has stable color mode which changes in plus or minus 75K over the entire range of power. This is nice, considering the lights that don’t have it tend to drift about plus or minus 200K. However, when you consider that 5500K, which is flash white balance, can vary from 5425 to 5575, vs 5300 to 5700 it can make a slight difference if you have a succession of photos that seem to be off just a bit. Me personally, I will probably keep the stable color mode on as I already do with my Godox AD400 Pro and AD200 Pro lights.Other nice features is the fact that I can set out the one light for a modeling session with two photographers and we can be shooting different camera brands like Canon, Nikon, Sony, Fujifilm, Olympus and Panasonic, and each have different power settings based on our respective remotes. Not that we would be shooting that fast during a session, but you get the idea. This has, like all Godox AD series lights, the built-in 2.4GHz Wireless X system with 32 channels that some triggers can scan to see the best channel to use in a location, as well as 5 groups to set up zones of lights. With high speed sync, or HSS, you can also go beyond the camera manufactures sync speed, which is typically 1/200 or 1/250 sec. The is great for when you want to get details in the sky while still having light reach your subject. Me personally, I like to use ND filters so I can keep within the sync speed, or at least just a little over that.On the AD600 Pro, the power button is on the bottom and slightly recessed, compare to the BM with the button on the side that I have accidentally turned on when in a bag.The screen is a nice bright bluish-white, compared to the older green tinted screen, which I think gives better contrast. The bulb on the Pro sits a little deeper into the modifier, thus putting more light to fill it with less spill than the BM.All in all, I’m very happy with the purchase, and can’t wait to get some more photo sessions done with it.

The media could not be loaded.I will highly recommend this light. The best value in on-location shooting, and it never failed me once. I have recently transitioned to my mirrorless cameras, and these super battery-powered strobes like AD 600 pro are suitable for my daily usage. Some improvement from the previous version to the current one, the lighting feature in the Ad600 pro is obviously way brighter than other Flash, it can be used as a video light if you lack equipment in some situations. The high-speed sync mode is really impressive, powerful, fast, and able to do continuous power output. It is worth the price with this value for sure.

I’m more of a videographer and never really considered myself a photographer. I have just always been a good enough editor to seem like a good photographer but over the last couple weeks using this light I find myself not having to edit at all. The power of the light is incredible also has great build quality. Being able to do full power shots back to back at a super high shutter speed is a game changer. Battery life is also great. I have done 4 shoots with it on a single charge and many of the shots were at full power. I attached some images from 3 photoshoots this past week with very little editing almost straight from camera (5d mark iii- 28-70 f2.8) highly recommend this flash if your looking to take your photography to the next level.

The media could not be loaded. It’s surprising when a product does exactly what you expect it to. Super solid gear investment! I did a crazy amount of research on Profoto/ Broncolor/ Godox before settling on this over the B1x system. Super happy with the decision. I got the Fuji version transmitter. HSS works flawlessly after the latest firmware upgrade to the Fuji body. The modeling light is sobright! It’s actually usable. It is dimmable as well. Accessories like the AC adapter back make this thing a real contender with multiple Profoto products. 10/10 would buy again. Also, this is probably trivial but I bought from B&H because I prefer the Godox branding and logo way more than Adorama’s “Flashpoint TTL XPLOR600” blah blah… This one is simple and clean. Looks a little more professional in my opinion. Love it. Go buy one.

The media could not be loaded. This flash is perfect for studio or outdoors. Battery lasts all day and color output is accurate. I use this with sony and the godox transmitter which gives me more range than i would ever need. It has a bowens mount so changing attachments is fast and secure. Nice work Godox.
