   I installed this on my Win 7 laptop. No issues with the software & it found the camera in moments after plugging it in. I took two dozen pictures and 2 videos. All came out quite well. Remember to turn down the resolution if you’re moving the subject or the lag will be annoying. You can easily turn it back up after you find what you want. Software has lots of options – really too many & the video start up seems clunky but it all works and works well. I haven’t used it long enough to know anything about reliability.

   The media could not be loaded.Attaching the camera to the microscope was easy. I simply removed one of the eyepieces and replaced it with the camera. After installing the software and inserting the usb the camera came up in the software and I clicked on the device to see the image onscreen. Clicking “snapshot” shows the image you captured on the screen and you can do a File…Save as…to save the image to the computer anywhere you want. To see a live image again, you have to click on the live tab above the screen image.I found the suggestion here to use lower resolution to set up your image and to change to a higher resolution for your photo helpful. however, sometimes a lower resolution shot is all you need.The camera works very well with my OMAX 40X-2000X Lab LED Binocular Microscope.I have included four snapshots take with the camera. The first two are of onion skin and the others are of handmade paper. I added a video of some pond water creatures.

   Like: works better than my cell phone for pictures (stability wise, I think my phone takes better quality), auto-exposure, auto white balance/contrast, good value overallDislike: very difficult to focus compared to objectives and very small movements of the stage cause big changes in focus, laggy when moving the slide so you tend to easily overshoot, my computer doesn’t have a CD drive for drivers (had to download the viewing program and drivers from a sketchy third party site, I couldn’t find it on the manufacturer site)

   This item worked right out of the box. It is very easy to use, with nice adapters and a very cool way to protect your microscope upper lense (that is, if you leave it hooked up permanently on your microscope). This was a very nice complement to a cheap microscope that had no digital camera. The image quality is very good. Thanks!
