I great camera. Sadly, the wide angle did not connect to the camera. Telephoto worked fine, unable to find how to connect to Sony warranty repair..

I have now owned my Sony A6700 camera for 3 months and am very pleased with my purchase. Having a entry level DSLR for several years I was looking to upgrade the quality of my pictures and there is a very discernable improvement with this camera. That is particularly true in indoors and low light situations. The other major considerations for me were portability and getting something with recent technology. The downsides to the Sony A6700 are that it consumes battery power fairly quickly, does not have a secondary card slot and like many technology products it takes some effort to use it to the fullest. That said this camera can be used a simple point and shoot with auto-focus. I have not observed any “computer glitch” issues with this product. It fits comfortably in my hands (men’s large size) and feels well made.I first became aware of the Sony AXXXX camera series when I noticed a fellow taking pictures of some windsurfers in the Columbia Gorge last spring. He was a technical person and used it mainly for hiking and sports photography. I was shocked at the relatively small footprint of the camera and lens used for this type of photography. He was using a slightly higher-powered lens than is included here, but it was still relatively small. In contrast I saw someone out this morning with an older full size DSLR and similar power lens indicating camera shake issues with longer lenses. Thus, another advantage of a compact camera and lens.Since purchasing the A6700, I have been experimenting with a variety of lenses. However, on a recent trip to Kauai I just took the included 18 to 135 mm lens and that worked great. I may get a longer shoulder strap and a longer variable APS-C lens in the future. Recently, I bought 3 relatively smaller Sigma prime lenses and they are working well, They were more of a splurge then necessary given the Sony 18 to 135 lens. I also bought a Monster Nikon F to Sony E converter which seems to work with my Sigma 150 – 600mm F-mount lens.I was initially looking at the Nikon Z6ii and Sony A6600 camera but was hesitant on buying as they were both several years old. I have a terrible record of buying things just before a major new product upgrade is announced. The Nikon apparently is a rock-solid product, but as a hobbyist I can tolerate a few idiosyncrasies for some other attributes. The A6700 camera can consume batteries fairly quickly even if you forget to turn it off. The extra battery included in this kit works just fine except the camera gives you a warning it is not a Sony battery which can cause confusion when you are trying to do something quickly. I bought a second Sony battery and use the charger included in this kit. The rest of the things included in this kit are quite usable. I was surprised. This camera is a learning project for me and I have found a book by Friedman Archives and YouTube videos to be extremely helpful. Given the changes in the A6700 from prior AXXXX products I doubt older books would be very helpful. Sony appears to be the leader in high performance smaller cameras and to me that is worth some of the product challenges.

This camera is absolutely phenomenal. (I had to watch some setup videos that made it more versatile and easy to use). My main focus was on camera and single 18-135mm lens. This lens provides wide range of shooting options and with extension rings macros are beyond what I expected. That said, kit came with bunch of extra items that made the price even sweeter. Granted, some of those extras are quite cheap, never less good for first few days to run some tests. Out of couple items I had to repurchase is flash – this cheap flash has no swivel so defusing is not easy, but it has slave mode so can be used as secondary flash. Secondly, both 64GB SD cards are rather slow (120MB/s) – to use 4k,120p or even 4k, 60p 10bit you will need fast V90 300MB/s card (they run over $120 for 128GB). Bag (Deco gear) is good quality and fits camera well.I’m extremely happy with this kit – if I tried to buy all those items individually, it would cost me about another $400.

Love the camera.. using for sports and landscape… was significantly better at focusing than my A6000 and A6500 camera under indoor lighting and higher ISO. Had it less than a week and used for indoor volleyball tournament and am still finding the best settings..but from a free drop, it is a big upgrade over my A6500..
