- Waterproof for Outdoor Use: This Starlink Adapter includes a waterproof kit for standard Ethernet cables, designed to connect with a female RJ45 adapter. Once connected, both the female and male ends are fully waterproof, protecting your network components from moisture and dirt, ensuring reliable connections.
- Installation Guidelines: To achieve the best performance, use a single Cat6 or higher Ethernet cable without any couplers or extenders to minimize contact resistance. Keep the cable length under 175 feet (50 meters) to maintain reliable operation. If you’re using crimped Ethernet cables, make sure the RJ45 connectors are securely attached. When installing the waterproof socket, handle the cable ends carefully to avoid twisting or damaging them.
- RV Enthusiasts Tip: If you need to use an Ethernet cable coupler or extender, choose Cat6A or higher cables with 23AWG or thicker wiring and high-quality RJ45 connectors to ensure a stable connection. Additionally, because third-party PoE injectors can sometimes provide inconsistent power, we recommend using standard Ethernet cables (23AWG or better) with a maximum length of 75 feet for the most reliable performance.

This worked perfect for a quick fix to connect a Cat 6A cable that was cut short outside. It’s lasted the fall and part of the winter in rural southern central Wisconsin. So far I haven’t had any issues with our Starlink Gen 3.

I added my own Cat6 6′ Ethernet cable and tightened all the seals. Surprisingly easy to figure out. I was worried Abort the connection but it’s like plugging into a rack mount port. Solid. Everything waterproof. I tested my cable speed and it was right on the money 930/40. So now I can add any length Ethernet for the fastest speed with Starlink Mini and it’s waterproof-the Key. The adapter is robust and comes with covers to put over the free Ethernet port when not in use. Looks like they thought of everything. If you are willing to spend the $ you’ll get a solid patch connector. Every Emergency Management office should have a Starlink Mini for after a Hurricane in my opinion. WiFi distance is not a strong point with the Mini so add your necessary lengths of Ethernet with this adapter. You can thank my later 🙂
