Bought this as an add on to another one we have that is not as detailed. This was easy to assemble and easy to use )for those of us who don’t know how to use the fancy ones lol ) my 4.5 absolutely loved it and it was crystal clear quality

My daughter loves space and has a great time looking through my 90EQ, so I wanted something she could use at the same time. This was easy to put together and had a few accessories that you would expect, like eyepieces. The 20mm eyepiece is fine, but the 6mm wasn’t super usable. This is mostly due to the nature of the thin mount connecting the tube to the tripod, its both twitchy to adjust and shaky. This is a table top telescope so make sure you choose a sturdy table, the least bit of movement will make for a difficult experience. The eye pieces are the smaller 0.965″ sizes so you won’t be able to use the common 1.25″ without an adapter.I had a bit of luck using the 20mm + 1.5x barlow lens to increase the zoom, the 3x reduced the view too much to be pleasant.Just keep in mind you won’t see details smaller than the moon and general view of planets, no rings of saturn or those types of fun things. My phone is massive, so using the phone mount isn’t possible but if you have a thinner/not 6.8inch phone it should fit.Overall this is a good starter telescope to see if you or your child is into the hobby before going for a larger and more expensive setup.

Assembly was very easy and straightforward, despite there not being a ton of diagrams in the instructions, so you can be looking at the stars in minutes. The whole thing is small and lightweight, and the tripod legs do not extend past what you see in the picture. So it’s a table top telescope. This could be fine as long as you have a stable table, because any movement to the table, i.e. a picnic bench that you’re also sitting at, is going to shake your image. The view finder is fairly accurate. There are two lenses included, 20mm and 6mm. 6mm got enough of an image of Venus to see that it’s a crescent currently, which is a pretty good resolution to keep kids interested. Using the clip on for a phone was tricky because the weight of the phone is almost enough to tip this whole thing over. You could do it but it will be a little cumbersome and may affect you getting a stable picture. Also included were a Barlow lens and a 1.5 magnifier like the Barlow, and a monocular lens totally separate from the telescope for spotting interesting things in the sky. I think it’s a great value for the money, and you can see all the novice hits, Galilean moons, moon craters, Pleiades, but the small legs and lightness of weight does give it some instability, and the thin plastic elements seem prone to breaking, so while it’s marketed for kids, it still needs a gentle touch. In fact, the large lens cover was already broken on arrival.
