I am a professional photographer and have been for 25+ years so I happen to have a lot of lenses which gives me an advantage over some potential users. I also have zero experience digitizing 120 35mm film, so some of my struggles are undoubtedly due to this fact.The build quality is what I’ve come to expect from JJC as I own several of their products and all of them are solid and built to last. The backlight really surprised me at its ability to so evenly light a negative frame.The main issue I have is trying to get the negative segment to lay completely flat. I fear there is a very slight amount of distortion if the negative bows out too much so I recommend spending the time here before you take the shot(s) to ensure its laying flat. The static build up seemed to actually help pull the negative in.TIP:Use a lint free cloth to gently wipe the negative clear of debris (and get it to lay down fully) just before you take the shot so you are not having to edit out tiny dust particles in post.I Recommend doing this in a room that has little to no ambient light as that light absolutely does affect your exposure to some degree. I set it up in our walk-in closet and it worked great. A bathroom could also work with the light off.I will update this review if anything changes within 1 year. A 5-star rating indicates the product meets my expectations for its purpose.

simple and effective IF You are well versed at scanningthe unit is just a film holder with lightyou bring the rest… exposures, holding rig stil, etc.with multi exposures, and proper lens to focus at this distanceyou have a quick way to bring fim to digital, easier than scanner once you get the hang of itbut I have been scanning film for years…for the experienced, user its very good for this price point
