Third one I have bought.Only thing I would change is having the clamp lever go slightly “Over-Center” to give a tactile feel of clamping in place

I could not find a foot that would fit the quick detach on my 40-year-old tripod.I bought this and drilled a 1/4″ hole through my old quick detach and bolted this on with a 1/4×20 bolt.I secured it with a few drops of glue so it cannot rotate. Works great. Most quick detach feet have a smooth pin that fits into a hole in the bottom of the camera to keep it from rotating. This has a hole where I could glue in a smooth pin, but no pin.

The best I have used. I would buy again.

I’ve been on the search for an inexpensive “perfect” ball head for a couple of years. When I saw this one at a VERY reasonable price, I thought I’d give it a try, even tough I didn’t expect much from it. I was wrong…it’s an excellent quality ball head, and closer to my goal than any other that I’ve used! The feature that sealed my purchase was the way the ball is enclosed: the sides of the body go well above the mid-point of the ball, securing it well when it’s side-loaded with the side-mount gimbal. I’m a paranoid hobbyist, and want the most secure mount possible. It’s machining and finish are comparable to other China-made heads that cost 2 ½ times what this one does. It’s not the lightest, coming in at just over a pound, but that’s fine with me, because I appreciate the all-metal construction. The ball moves smoothly, and the panoramic rotation is smooth, but quite stiff – I’ll reserve judgment on that after I use it with my side-mount ball gimbal for some wildlife photography. The ball tightens adequately for the weight/mass it’s subjected to, and doesn’t creep like other, more expensive ball heads that I’ve used, but I use Olympus cameras and lenses so the loads I put on a ball head aren’t really high, even with a long MFT telephoto zoom lens.To test its clamping ability I turned the side-mount gimbal 90º from vertical, and hung a 10-pound weight from it with no creeping. See the photo. The thick, double-layer storage bag they provided has a heavily padded bottom – a real bonus that I’ll probably put to use as a lens bag.All-in-all, it’s a well-made ball head, and I’m pleased with it so far. Only time will tell about its durability.

Love having these at this price on all the tripods. So far quality is just as good.

Great replacement for a Manfrotto tripod. The factory mount was made of plastic and broke with minimal use.
