I have to be clear comparing this to a commercial grade tripod that usually run $300+ wouldn’t be fair because it is not competing in the same class. Comparing it to sub $100 models that you will get at big box retail stores is a fair comparison because this is the same quality or better and for the same price you get the 9′ leveling rod or ruler as some call it included. for anyone that plans to use it to build a barn, house, work on the farm, or layout some drainage etc., this is a decent item. I wouldn’t recommend it for someone who builds houses or does concrete for a living because those guys are a lot tougher on their equipment, but for the average person, this a a good product.

Being a jack of all trades, it is sometimes hard to justify purchases for specific specialized jobs but buying this tripod to go along with a transom has been an incredible purchase. The transom itself was quite expensive so it was nice to save a little bit of money on the tripod and grade rod. The quality is good enough as it functions super well and I’m not keeping it on the truck everyday, only bringing it out every now and again for a day or so prepping a foundation. It doesn’t compare quality wise to the name brand guys but for the price point is a super great value as it functions and has all the same features as them. Love the bonus of having the grade rod so I don’t have to mount my sensor to scrap lumber and make my own marks. It is also super light and easy to read
