   This shutter plugs directly in to my Canon SL2(200D) camera and provides remote shutter release. It doesn’t require any batteries or external attachments and still allows for the half-press focus process. You can also lock the button in pressed mode for various long exposure shots. This is great for tripod photography. While the remote seems larger than necessary, it is still very portable.No complaints for this camera accessory.

   I have quickly become a big fan of this simple, well-designed hand-held shutter release system! Just plug it in and it’s ready to go, no batteries or recharging required. The large spring-loaded shutter button is easy to find it the dark and that makes life much easier when taking dark-sky photos or long exposures.Depress the button half-way down to focus and completely down to take the shot. Press it down and slide it forward and it locks for bulb exposures or light painting. The three foot cable is works well for tripod shots and it’s small enough to pack easily in my bag. The remote unit is sturdy, well-constructed and I expect will survive many years in my camera bag.Bottom Line: Excellent corded shutter release button. No batteries, cables or recharging needed! Plug it in and it works! Excellent for long exposures and essential for astro-photography. The hand grip and shutter release button have a great tactile feel with no more fumbling in the dark looking for the shutter!

   I had no trouble with this remote on my Sony a6500, using the S2 cable. I just installed some batteries, connected the receiver to my camera, and away I went.There are DIP switches in the receiver and remote to set a channel, if you want to control multiple cameras from one remote or if you’re getting interference from somebody else. It’s not the most friendly or elegant way to select a channel, but it works.The ‘bulb’ and self-timer features also worked exactly as they should. As a side note, if you use bulb mode and have your camera set for continuous shooting, you can use the remote to trigger the start and end of a burst. Annoyingly, holding the button down in normal mode only sends a single press of the shutter button, instead of a constant hold.I didn’t have much space to properly test wireless range, but I didn’t have issues at around 30ft.I also have a Canon “E3” cable for use with my existing Pixel intervalometer. I tried it with this, and sure enough, it worked just fine. Unfortunately, this remote and that intervalometer are not cross-compatible. Not a huge deal, but it would have been nice.Build quality for both the remote and receiver is excellent. Both are made from a high grade of plastic, and the buttons on them have a definite two-stage click.Overall, not a bad remote setup, although it is a little pricy. My only suggestion would be to compare against intervalometers, since they’re only slightly more expensive and have more features with a better UI. That aside, it’s a great unit.

   This is the easiest to use remote. I was using it a few minutes after taking out put off the box. We use it for self portraits and work portraits. I use it with my canon 7d. The directions were well written, by a human rather than AI. It’s nice too because it uses normal easy to find batteries . Now I can’t wait to take more pictures!

   I prefer this style of shutter release to the remote versions.It’s lightweight, functional and simple to use, and works well with both my Nikon bodies. The locking feature is useful but I don’t know if it’s really necessary. I do use it if I’m leaving the shutter release attached to the camera when I’m moving it.Similar models I’ve used in the past have lasted anywhere from 2 months to over 2 years, so it will be interesting to see how long this one lasts for.Overall, I”m happy with it so far.
