I was a little skeptical about how well this would work, but it’s a great device for exploring the world. It was a gift for a 11yo and it didn’t take him too long to figure it out – it’s easy to use. The viewer is bright and while not perfect it does provide a good image in both the microscope and binocular modes. He was able to record a number of videos which were impressive. For the price it’s a great gift for any preteen.

This is actually a really cool device. Perfect for any young explorer, that wants to get a better view of things either far away, or almost microscopic.It is a great size, very portable, lightweight, and very easy to use. It has a binocular like setting for long distances, and a microscope setting to view incredibly small things. There is an LCD screen to view the images on, instead of relying on looking through a little lens. Works great, great for kids, great price, and even comes with a stand and some slides. Highly recommended.

This is great for kids of all ages. Yes, even me. I got this for the grandkids because I love things that are fun for them but at the same time makes them think. This microscope/telescope helps them literally see things in a whole new way. It comes with a stand so that it can be used more like a stationary microscope, and it comes with a few slides. It also comes with a memory card so images can be saved. That said, if you want a camera this isn’t it. It’s ok but doesn’t do well with motion. It really needs to be pretty still to get a good image. It works fine for what it is. It isn’t terribly difficult to operate, and the kids had no problem at all figuring it out, even without instructions. They have loved it, and I love seeing how their curious nature is pushed farther having the ability to see things that normally they wouldn’t be able to. I’ve even been known to use it a time or two also. It’s a wonderful tool to use looking at the inscription on jewelry, coins and even that teeny tiny print on medicine bottles. It’s even rechargeable so I don’t have to spend a fortune on batteries. It comes with a charging cable but not the wall charger, which is pretty standard, even if I don’t particularly like it. Overall, I really like this microscope/telescope and would order again if needed.
